Job Description:

Develops & maintains compact models for Gallium Nitride (GaN) based Integrated Circuits, primarily for internal use with EPC proprietary processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, QA, and document :
    • compact models for IC analog devices in GaN technology (active and passive devices).
    • compact models for non-RF, power fets.
    • integrated thermal models.
  • Develop monte carlo & statistical models applicable to GaN processes.
  • Support troubleshooting simulation issues (eg convergence).
  • Parasitic elements characterization.
  • Familarity with Finite Element Methods (FEM, FEA) & tools.
  • Create characterization manuals and reports that are publication worthy.
  • Familiarity with capabilities and limitations of modern test & measurement instruments.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Occasional support to external customers of EPC GaN Integrated circuit products and discrete power transistor products.

Job Requirements:

  • Device physics knowledge as it impacts electrical & thermal modeling.
  • Familiarity with ICCAP framework.
  • Verilog A programming and best practices.
  • Spice programming.
  • Common simulators: ADS, Spectre, and Spice-based.
  • Python programming
  • Knowledge in wafer level reliability, such as Electrical migration, stress migration, dielectric TDDB is a Plus.
  • Fluent in English language and writing.
  • Expert Microsoft Word user for report writing.

Education/Experience:

  • 3+ years Analog device modeling
  • Minimum Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area.
