Job Description:

A direct report to the CFO of EPC, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting, including AP & AR, payroll, journal entry preparation, bank reconciliation and audit support.

Job Responsibilities:

AR/AP

  • Review all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Manage purchase orders and enter invoices into the accounting system (MS Dynamics 365 Business Central)
  • Prepare and process accounts payable checks, eChecks, and wires
  • Reconcile vendor and customer statements, 3-way matching
  • Complete AP and AR month-end and year-end close and account analysis

Bookkeeping

  • Create and maintain account reconciliation schedules and analysis of the accounts
  • Submit journal entries for approval, including payroll, insurances, month-end accruals and deferrals
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Understand and maintain knowledge of general accounting principles, payables practices and general ledger and accounting terms
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.

Payroll

  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely for all entities. Maintain all employee files with 100% accuracy, process payroll and human resources changes such as new hires, address changes, rate changes, tax changes, garnishments, benefit deductions, status changes etc. Maintain 100% accuracy for all employee vacation/sick time accrual.

Projects

  • Support audits and prepare ad hoc analysis, reports and projections.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or completed certification program in accounting principles.
  • Solid computer skills; strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred
