As silicon carbide and gallium nitride technologies continue to emerge in the power component market, companies are expanding and developing to offer an extensive portfolio of devices. In the last couple of years, the worldwide wide-bandgap scenes have been characterized by development and growing industry acceptance. In this panel discussion, we will explore the prospects and challenges of both materials in multiple application contexts, as well as the last barriers to overcome for widespread adoption, such as large-volume capabilities and prices.
Keynote: GaN Technology Accelerates DC-DC Power Density Increases日付：11月18日
時間： 10:00 – 10:40 CET
Keynote Speaker: Alex Lidow, Chief Executive Officer, Efficient Power Conversion (EPC)
Since the first commercial GaN power transistors launched in 2010 there have been several generational improvements in the technology. From the beginning, one of the key target markets for GaN power transistors has been the 48 VIN DC-DC power supply for high performance enterprise computing. In this talk we will tie the evolution of GaN transistor technology to the improvements in power density achieved in DC-DC converters. From under 500 W/in3 for a MOSFET-based 48 V – 12 V converter in 2015 to today’s benchmarks of over 5000 W/in3 we will show the GaN technology that enabled these changes and give a view into the future of the technology and its expanding adoption in a wide variety of applications.
