Job Description:

As an applications lab assistant you will work with top Ph.D -level professionals on leading-edge power conversion circuits and systems. You will be responsible for creating test fixtures, programming and operating automated test equipment, review designs to draft and update quick start guides (QSG). You will work with engineers to transition designs to production and maintain component inventory and databases. This position requires knowledge of power electronic circuits, and a hands-on approach to getting things done on aggressive time scales.

This position requires someone who has excellent organizational skills, a proven track record, pays attention to detail but can also work as part of a team. You will enjoy the support of a highly talented team who will assist your career growth and knowledge of GaN FETs and IC’s.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, update and maintain automated test equipment used for testing
  • Assemble prototypes
  • Manage Altium component library and synchronize this database with production
  • Draft and maintain testing protocols for eGaN FET based demonstration boards
  • Support demo board production testing for ATE systems and test protocols
  • Draft, review and update QSGs
  • Design, build and maintain test fixtures for production support
  • Processing of collected test data and generating reports
  • Document test procedures

Skills:

  • Understanding of power electronics and switching converters
  • Practical bench experience: testing, soldering, rework, and modification of boards, mechanical assembly.
  • Skilled at setting up experiments, data processing and document generation
  • Proficient in design capture and analysis software: schematics, PCB layout (Altium preferred), simulations (e.g. LTSpice)
  • Good knowledge of how to operate advanced instruments required e.g. oscilloscope
  • Able to program and operate automated test equipment (e.g. GPIB, DAQ) is a plus
  • Basic computer skills are required

Requirements:

  • Technical diploma with at least 5 years’ experience or BS in electrical and electronic engineering
  • Work authorized
