Job Description:

EPC is a pioneer in GaN based power devices and integrated circuits. We are enabling new applications from machine to environment awareness using LIDAR to an integrated and cordless world through wireless power. We are innovators and drivers for a highly efficient power delivery chain of the future.

The GaN IC Circuit Designer III works at the product level, with a systems-level focus on building applications to meet customer needs. Position responsibilities include::

  • Invent and design IC systems using building blocks of sub circuits suitable for use in GaN ICs
  • Draft and design block diagrams for the design of an IC
  • Draft IC specifications and datasheets for GaN ICs
  • Support regulatory processes when needed, e.g. UL certification for opto isolators
  • Build and evaluate test circuits of ICs in various stages
  • Draft application documentation for IC circuits such as QSG, white papers, application notes, test reports
  • Some customer support (with help from FAE’s and Applications)
  • Identify and draft specifications for the IC building blocks
  • Working with counsel, draft patent applications.
  • Drafting of marketing collateral

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of various application circuits that will use GaN IC such as gate drivers, Buck converters etc.
  • Draft testing specifications
  • Schematic capture skills
  • Strong data processing and documentation skills
  • Good computer and applications skills

Education/Experience:

  • MS degree or PhD in electrical engineering, with background in semiconductor physics a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years of circuit design experience
  • Expertise in circuit simulation
  • Printed circuit board experience
  • Technical documentation training and/or experience
  • Semiconductor knowledge a plus
