As part of its expansion to support a widening customer base for DC-DC, LiDAR, wireless power applications and beyond, Efficient Power Conversion Corporation has expanded its Asia-based team with new members who are in close proximity to customers in 21 regions throughout Asia Pacific.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — November 28, 2018 — To support its accelerating sales growth in Asia, Efficient Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) is proud to announce the expansion of the sales and FAE team in Asia Pacific to support its expanding customer base, maximize new business acquisition and capture new market opportunities.
Darren Shang, Vice President of Sales, Asia Pacific, EPC, has over 20 years of experience in various multinational power semiconductor companies with extensive sales and business development experience. His primary responsibilities at EPC are creating and implementing sales strategies to achieve the company’s sales objectives in Asia Pacific.
Darren joined from Taiwan power semiconductor distributors including Pantek Technology Corporation (Alltek Group). Prior to that, he served regional roles in Boston Power, Avago (now Broadcom) and Infineon. In representing EPC, Darren supported ITRI’s Wireless Power Workshop held at Taiwan University in Taipei on October 30th, 2018. The event was highly successful with commercial and academic experts sharing practical examples and experiences. EPC demonstrated an eGaN-based large surface area wireless power application on site which attracted engineering participants who are actively contributing to the latest development of wireless power applications for the industry.
At the Open Data Center Summit held on November 16th, 2018 in Beijing, China, with presentations by Tencent, Alibaba and Baidu, Chris Cheung, EPC’s China Sales Director, together with Henry Qiu, Senior FAE Manager, China, explored the opportunities of working with data center partners using eGaN technology which is the choice of technology for the latest designs at 48 V input.
Chris Cheung has over 10 years of sales experience at International Rectifier (now Infineon). Prior to joining EPC, he worked for GTC Technology Limited in managing eGaN product sales opportunities and earlier for ENW Electronics Limited with a combined 9 years.
Henry Qiu has more than 6 years of experience in DC-DC power supply design. He has been working with customers in creating design solutions using eGaN devices to optimize circuit performance well beyond silicon FET-based solutions. During his 3 years at Huawei Technologies Co. Limited in Shenzhen, China, he managed power module projects, adopted eGaN FETs in power supply applications, and is very familiar with leveraging the advantages of eGaN technology in customer solutions by incorporating eGaN benefits into DC-DC, wireless power, and LiDAR designs for EPC customers.
